EIGHT PRINCIPLES
The rules beneath the architecture.
These principles apply across physical infrastructure, technology, economics, education and community. They help us choose between what is merely exciting and what actually strengthens the Oasis.
Complexity has a cost.
Prefer understandable, repairable systems and use complexity only where it creates enough measurable value to justify itself.
Proof before mythology.
Prototype, instrument and document. Ambitious experiments are welcome, but claims must remain proportional to evidence.
Maintenance is part of design.
A resilient system considers access, replacement parts, failure modes, local skills and the realities of long-term operation.
Work with the site.
Climate, gravity, water, sunlight, materials, culture and existing infrastructure should shape the solution rather than be ignored.
Economic strength protects the mission.
Create diversified revenue before taking on major fixed costs so Sustainable Oasis can grow from capability rather than financial pressure.
Knowledge should travel.
Document useful designs, failures, costs and methods so learning can compound and other communities can adapt the results.
No final version.
Every Oasis is a living system. Feedback, evidence and experience should continually improve how it operates.

The land is earned by the engine.
The Oasis needs land, but land acquired too early can become a financial constraint. Our principle is to make productive land the result of economic strength and validated systems.
Build capability first.
Develop the economic and technical foundation that allows the eventual site to begin with momentum instead of debt-driven pressure.
